{"id":860,"date":"2014-05-07T14:53:06","date_gmt":"2014-05-07T14:53:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/192.168.3.4\/?p=860"},"modified":"2018-01-09T06:49:38","modified_gmt":"2018-01-09T14:49:38","slug":"image-presentations-and-some-pi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cloudacm.com\/?p=860","title":{"rendered":"Image Presentations and some Pi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Virtual Reality Presentations with photography<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During my travels to Alaska the past week and a half I had the good fortune to find a photo stitching program called <a href=\"http:\/\/photosynth.net\/\">Photosynth<\/a>. \u00a0The idea isn&#8217;t anything new. \u00a0I had used stitching programs before in the late 90&#8217;s. \u00a0What set this apart was the rendering options. \u00a0Subjects weren&#8217;t strictly panoramic, a subject covered in great detail by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pano.ie\/\">Pano<\/a>. \u00a0Subjects could be center pieces, along a wall, or traveled through. \u00a0The rendering brings the subjects alive with an almost video or 3D effect.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/photosynth.net\/preview\/embed\/93341e5e-c1b0-4556-a5f5-9736527e639a?delayload=true&amp;autoplay=true\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/photosynth.net\/preview\/view\/93341e5e-c1b0-4556-a5f5-9736527e639a\" target=\"_blank\">Bear Skull<\/a> by <a href=\"http:\/\/photosynth.net\/preview\/users\/CloudACM\" target=\"_blank\">CloudACM<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/photosynth.net\/preview\/\" target=\"_blank\">Photosynth<\/a><\/p>\n<p>What is really remarkable is the control this type of image presentation offers the viewer. \u00a0The experience is tactile, this makes understanding the subject more clear and discernible. \u00a0What&#8217;s hidden from the viewer is the processing and code that stitch the pictures together. \u00a0It is a marvel of computing potential that this can be done.
